The Black Satellite of Ghana on Saturday in Dakar suffered a 3-1 defeat to Senegal in the first leg of the final hurdle of the 2017 African Youth Qualifiers.
Ghana went into the game with the hope of shocking Senegal at their own backyard but they shot themselves in the foot.
Ibrahima Ndiaye scored the first goal for the home side on the 11th minute but Jonathan Osabutey pulled even for Ghana on the 22nd minute.
The home side three minutes later restored their lead as Ndiaye bagged his brace and on the 57th minute he scored his third goal in the game. Senegal then held on to win the game 3-1.
The second leg game is slated for July 22nd at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium. The winner over the two legs will qualify for the next year’s championship which will be held in Zambia.
