Ghana kicked off the Russia 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier on a frustrating not after the Black Stars were held to a goalless draw in Tamale by the Cranes of Uganda.
The Ugandans started the match strongly, creating early chances, but the Black Stars unusually jaded and created little chances in the first half.
The Black Stars however, improved and lifted up their game after the break, but the Ugandans were as resolute in defense as they were sharp attacking.
Both sides pressed hard for the much-needed opener as the match moved to a close, with the Ugandans appearing very comfortable and confident even in injury time.
The two sides are now on one point each, with Congo hosting Egypt in Brazaville in the other Group E match on Saturday.
Ghana’s next match will be away to Egypt next month.
