Ghanaian third-tier side Sporting Club Accra have picked silver in the just ended twelfth-club U-18 tourney held in Benin.
The tournament which started 18th and ended 25th April saw Abi Sport from Benin and Sporting Club battling each other at the final.
But the Beninese side took advantage of their home ground to win the championship by beating the Kwashieman based club 4-3 on penalties. But the Ghanaian side swooped all the awards after the championship.
“It was a great a tourney for my boys, we have learned a lot. We almost won the cup but playing against the host club was very difficult,” President and Coach of Sporting Club Accra Fiifi Parker told GazzettaGhana.com.
“The aim of our club is groom young talents and we have been doing that for the past years, I don’t want to talk much regarding my contribution in unearthing talents in Ghana. I scouted for Right To Dream through that I introduced Majid Waris to the club.
“We are serving Ghana at the same time producing good players for the national teams,” he added.
