GHPL Week 11 Wrap-Up: Hearts of Oak Pip Berekum Chelsea, Kotoko Hit Three Past Dwarfs

Hearts of Oak bounced back from their week 10 home loss to Kotoko to beat Berekum Chelsea 1-0 at Golden City Park on Sunday.

The win thus take the Phobians to the top of the log sheet after Wa All Stars lost 3-1 at Techiman City.

The Phobains held their guns in the first half as they curtailed the swift attacking movement of the home side. Both sides failed to break the virginity of the game in the first half.

Hearts of Oak in the second half mounted an intense pressure on the home side and in the 59 minute Samuel Yeboah scored the first goal after he was thread through by Isaac Mensah.

Chelsea then regrouped and improved their game but they failed to get the equalizer as the game ended 1-0.

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Asante Kotoko continued their good run with a convincing 3-0 win over struggling Dwarfs.

The Porcupine Warriors before the break took a two goal lead courtesy Dauda Mohammed and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi.

Dwarfs in the second half were awarded a penalty but their new signing Gilbert Fiamneyo kick got saved by Ernest Sowah.

Dauda Mohammed later in the game registered his brace and Asante Kotoko third goal as Dwarfs were sent packing from Kumasi.
