Former Black Stars forward Baffour Gyan has labeled his junior brother, Asamoah Gyan, as a megastar over his exploits in the Ghana team.
The senior Gyan’s comments come at the back of some former national team players’ calling for Asamoah to release his captain’s band to his deputy Andre Dede Ayew.
Baffour, who also played in the national team from 2001-2008, believes Prince Polley and Sarfo Gyamfi including himself all just passed through the team without recognition.
“I find it difficult to talk about Black Stars because my brother is in there and anything I say will mean something else.
“People say all sorts of things but let me say it, all these people just passed through the Black Stars. But for Asamoah he is a Superstar whether you like or not”, he said.
Asamoah Gyan is currently one of the most successful footballers on the African continent having played at three different World Cups (2006, 2010 and 2014) and five Afcon championships (2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015).
The Shanghai SIPG attacker is currently the top African scorer at FIFA World Cup with six goals.
