Black Stars head coach, Avram Grant is optimistic Ghana can win the 2017 African Cup Of Nations.
Ghana earned qualification to its 21st AFCON tournament on Sunday after beating Mauritius 2-0 in Port Louis.
Two second half goals by stand-in captain Andre Ayew and on-loan Malaga winger Christian Atsu secured the double over their counterparts.
Ghana reached the final of 2015 edition of the biggest tournament on the continent but lost on penalties to Ivory Coast.
The four-time African champions will therefore be hoping to clinch the trophy which has eluded for almost four decades.
And Grant, who guided the Stars to second position the last time is positive ahead of the showdown early next year.
‘’Of Course, you know that a lot of teams have the ambition to win, but we did well in the last African Cup. We deserved the cup. We were better in the finals, we didn’t win because of penalties,’’ he told reporters after the game.
Ghana joins Cameroon, Egypt and other countries for the tournament.
