Medeama SC recorded their first win in the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup against Young Africans from Tanzania.
The Tarkwa based side posted a 3-1 win over Young Africans in their Group B fixture on Tuesday at the Essipong Sports Stadium in a game which was dominated by the Ghanaian side.
Medeama who prior to the game have played three games without win were poised to end their winless drought – Daniel Amoah scored the first goal for the home side after he tapped home AttahAdjei’s corner-kick.
The Mauve and Yellows failed to double their lead after Malik Akowuah missed from the spot but Abass Mohammed increased the tally for Prince Owusu’s side in the 22nd minute.
Medeama’s second goal was short lived after Young Africans reduced the deficit from the spot through Happygod Msuva.
But before the break, Abass Mohammed grabbed his brace to restore the Tarkwa giants’ two goal lead.
Both sides in the second failed to score again as the game ended 3-1 advantage the Ghanaian side.
Medeama after four games are 3rd with five points same points as the second placed team M.O Bejaia while TP Mazembe top the group with seven points.
