J.E Sarpong, head coach of struggling Ebusua Dwarfs has lauded the quality of the Kotoko team indicating that the Porcupine Warriors would win the 2015/16 Premier League if they maintain their momentum.
The record league holders made it two wins out of two games by trouncing Ebusua Dwarfs 3-0 on match day 11 of the domestic top flight at the famous Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Youngster Dauda Mohammed opened the scoring mid-way through the first half before winger Frank Sarfo Gyamfi doubled Kotoko’s lead few minutes to end the first half.
Kotoko could have recorded avalanche of goals but were too wasteful upfront as they squandered the numerous chances they created.
Newly signed Dwarfs striker Gilbert Fiamenyo started on a bad note for his new employers as he came off the bench to waste a penalty kick which was awarded to the Cape Coast-based club.
With few minutes to end proceedings, enterprising Dauda Mohammed netted his second goal on the afternoon to end the game at 3-0 for the Reds.
Speaking after the game, experienced Sarpong admitted that his outfit was appalling on the day.
‘’I congratulate them (Kotoko). If they play like this, I think Kotoko can win the league,’’
‘’Kotoko did very well in terms of intensity, and transition. Kotoko was ahead.’’
Asante Kotoko have now climbed to 5th position on the league log, whilst Dwarfs remain at the foot of the 16-club league.
