Dreams FC have decided to play in Division One after accepting Ghana Football Association (GFA) Appeals Committee ruling.
The Kweiman based club last two week faced the wrath of the FA’s judicial body for fielding an unqualified player against Tema Youth during their stints in Division One two seasons ago.
Initially the case was ruled infavour of Dreams FC but Tema Youth after going through all the Ghana FA’s legal procedures pursued the matter at Court of Arbitration for Sports and the Ghana FA were directed to form a new Appeals Committee to sit on the case which Tema Youth won.
After the ruling many football pundits thought Dreams FC would contest the ruling, but they have rather decided to allow the matter to rest for the betterment of Ghana Football.
A press statement from the club reads:
“Consequently, notwithstanding the loss of financial resources by Dreams FC and the huge disappointment, it is the decision of the Board of Directors of our club and our legal team (as law abiding cooperate citizens, a model club and a member of the Ghana FA) that Dreams FC will put the interest of Ghana Football ahead of its own interest and accept the purported decision …”
With this decision from Dreams FC, they will be replaced by Tema Youth in the upcoming Ghana Premier League set to kick off on Januray 21st.
