The Black Stars arrived in the Egyptian city of Alexandria on Saturday afternoon ahead of Sunday’s World Cup qualifying match.
The Ghana delegation touched down at the Borg-al Arab Airport at about 2pm local time before they were whisked away to the team’s hotel.
The delegation led by Ghana FA vice president and chairman of the Black Stars management George Afriyie was met on arrival by Ghana’s ambassador to Egypt, His Excellency Umar Sanda, and other high ranking embassy officials.
The Egypt Football Association also a had high powered delegation on arrival to meet the Black Stars and their team officials as they touched down in Alexandria for Sunday’s match. The Black Stars are will rest at the team’s hotel before training at the Borg el Arab Stadium later in the evening at 6pm local time.
Ghana will play Egypt in the second round of the group matches of the qualifiers on Sunday. The Black Stars are chasing a victory over the Pharaohs after opening their campaign with a goalless draw against in Tamale last month.
Egypt top the group after defeating Congo 1-0 in the other Group E match in the opening round of the qualifiers.
