Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko played a pulsating 2-2 draw game in the United Nations Association of Ghana Peace Cup match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Mustapha Essuman scored with a sensationally stupendous strike to pull Hearts level after Kotoko had come from a goal down to take the lead through Amos Frimpong.
Kelly Addae Atingah Vincent struck the opener from the spot in the 37th minute after Isaac Mensah was upended in the box.
Striker Cosmos Dauda’s goal, which would have put Hearts two goals up was chalked off for offside before Amos Frimpong missed a penalty after Inusah Musah was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box, shooting straight to Evans Gbeti a few seconds to the end of the first half.
Substitute Halipha Sadogo scored a wonderful goal showing great composure and iced-cool finishing to draw Kotoko level after the break.
The game was on track to go for the lotteries of the shoot-out but the organizers of the game together with the technical crew of the two sides decided to opt out for a return encounter in Kumasi.
