NWL Review: Intellectuals Stun Strikers, Ampem Darkoa Hold On To Summit

The National Women’s League (NWL) entered Match-Day 10 over the weekend, with some interesting results emerging from the various league centers.

In the Southern Zone, visiting Lady Strikers, slugged it out with Soccer Intellectuals at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast on Saturday, with hosts, Soccer Intellectuals posting a slim 1-0 shutout to annex all three points and League leaders Hasaacas Ladies held on to their dominance, defeating Halifax Ladies by a 2-1 margin at the Sekondi Essipong Stadium.

Elsewhere in the zone, Bafana Ladies hosted and succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Police Ladies at their favorite Paa Kwasi Ndoum Sports Complex at Elmina and visiting Samaria Ladies divvied the spoils with their hosts – Immigration Ladies – at the El-Wak Stadium.

In the Northern zone, Techiman-based Ampem Darkoa triumphed over fifth placed Northern Ladies by a 4-1 margin and Kumasi-based Fabulous Ladies hosted and defeated Prisons Ladies by two goals to one.

Elsewhere in the zone, 7th placed Real Upper Ladies took a 3-1 road trouncing at the hands of Lepo Ladies at the Batco Park in Tamale and Subayo Ladies continued their sloppy display, losing by 2goals to
nothing at home to Ashtown Ladies.
